2011 Shootout Schedule

LO Profile | August 10, 2011

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the United States and has been listed by Powerboat Magazine as one of the 8 “must see” boating events. With speeds reaching 208 MPH on a 1 mile drag, boats come from all over the United States for the honor of “Top Gun”. The 22nd Anniversary event continued its record setting pace as over 75,000 people came to the Lake of the Ozarks to see a fun-filled week of activities.  From the golf tournament and National Concert Performers, to remote controlled boat races and an unbelievable fireworks display, there certainly was something for everyone.  All of it was just a prelude to the record setting performance of David Scott and John Tomlinson of Nauti-Marine as they blistered their way past over 6,000 boats lining the course on Saturday at 208 mph, a new Captain Ron’s record and just 1 mph short of the all time record.
