L•O Profile MarCom Award Winner
L•O Profile Magazine has once again been named a multiple award winner in the prestigious MarCom Awards competition for 2008. The magazine was a multiple award winner in the 2007 competition as well.
The MarCom Awards, an international creative competition, recognized Studio M Publishing, LLC, publisher of L•O Profile, for outstanding achievement. L•O Profile was presented one Platinum Award, which is judged as the most outstanding entry in the competition; three Gold Awards, which were judged as those which exceed the high standards of the industry norm; and two Honorable Mention Awards. L•O Profile received awards in six categories:
Platinum — “The First Family” (May-June) – Writing/Feature, Dan Field.
Gold — Publisher’s Note “There’s No Place Like Home,” (September-October) – Writing/Column, Missy Martinette Hills.
Gold — Writing/Magazine (overall 2008).
Gold — Magazine/Consumer (overall 2008)
Honorable Mention — Design/Format (overall 2008), Amanda Degraffenreid, art director.
Honorable Mention — “Red Carpet Reality” Rodney Stone, (July-August) – Writing/Feature, Missy Martinette Hills.
2007 Awards
L•O Profile was presented one Platinum Award which is judged as the most outstanding entry in the competition, and four Gold Awards, which were judged as those, which exceed the high standards of the industry norm. One Honorable Mention Award was granted to those entries that meet the expectations of the judges. L•O Profile received awards in six categories:
Platinum — “The Castle” – Writing/Feature, Dan Field.
Gold — “Publisher’s Note” – Writing/Column, Missy Martinette Hills.
Gold — “Gary Prewitt’s Story” – Writing/Feature, Kristen Turner.
Gold — LO Profile Magazine – Writing (overall).
Gold — LO Profile Magazine – Design/Format (overall).
Honorable Mention – LO Profile Magazine Interior Design, Amanda DeGraffenreid.
The MarCom Awards is an annual competition administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. The competition has grown to the largest of its kind in the world. About 18 percent of the entries won the Platinum Award, the organization’s top honor.
L•O Profile magazine has received accolades from yet another internationally recognized awards competition.
The 14th annual 2008 Communicator Awards, sponsored by the International Academy of Visual Arts, bestowed three Awards of Distinction on the magazine. They were for Editorial Writing for “Interesting to Meet”, overall Copy/Writing and overall Consumer Magazine.
With more than 9,000 entries from across the U.S. and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals.
“It’s humbling to be recognized as among the elite by one¹s peers, L•O Profile publisher Missy Martinette Hills said. ³The honors are a reflection of the Lake of the Ozarks, it¹s residents, second homeowners and businesses.
The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, a 200-plus-member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current IAVA membership represents a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms including: Condè Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby¹s Institute of Art, Victoria¹s Secret, Wired, Yahoo! and others.
L•O Profile also was the subject of recent awards from the St. Louis Gallery of Superb Printing/St. Louis Graphic Arts & Communications Association, Inc.
They are: Bronze: January-February 2008; Bronze: March-April 2008; Silver: November-December 2007.
